Support Network Africa is a Non-profit organization set up to raise awareness
about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders among mothers in Africa.
Our mission is to educate mothers about postpartum depression and provide support to families across Africa. We aim to provide FREE Postpartum depression screening to expectant and new mothers and to provide them information about how to get professional help- we currently seek passionate and productive change makers to join our team of maternal mental health awareness champions .
Duties and responsibilities
The assistant director will be responsible for the creation and implementation of programme strategies, stakeholders’ management, project management and the organization’s sustainability.
The Assistant Director carries out his/her
functions under the direct supervision of the Executive Management.
Specifically, the incumbent will:

Be responsible for the day to day management of the
organization across departments
·
Work with the program strategic director to implement
projects from initiation to closing
·
Assist the Executive Management with all
operations, budget management, development and implementation of fundraising
activities.
·
Prepare required statistical, financial, and
service reports as needed.
·
Establish and maintain effective relationships with
local, state, and governmental agencies.
·
Works directly to support team leads to carry out
their activities effectively
·
Identify relevant training, resources and support
for team members
·
Analyse project, administrative and operational
functions; reviews policies and procedures systems for efficiency; recommends
appropriate changes and system improvements
·
Recommend sound personnel practices in employee
recruitment, evaluations, compensation, employee benefits, and terminations
·
Work closely with departments to evaluate and
record the organization’s impact (internally and externally)
·
Fulfil other duties assigned

1. Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to manage processes and maintain
accurate records. Ability to set priorities and transfer skills, ability to
provide ad hoc support and coaching to fulfil the organization’s strategic
objectives. Ability to maintain flexibility in working hours with proven track
record of integrity.
2. Planning and Organising: Demonstrated effective organisational skills
and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner. Demonstrated
ability to coordinate tasks to meet deadlines. Demonstrate ability to keep
accurate records and reports of the organisation’s activities.
3. Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with remote
teams and a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and
respect for diversity. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and motivate others
to work.
4. Communication: Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to
communicate effectively orally. Familiarity with work software and tools for
remote collaboration and synchronization.
5. Leadership -Demonstrate the ability to innovate, create and execute
strategies for the organisation. Demonstrate the ability to bring together and
engage stakeholders, create and maintain strategic partnerships. Passionate
about women’s health or mental health in Nigeria and Africa.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education
University degree in communications, sociology,
social sciences or other related area. A masters in the social science field/
an MBA or a certificate in Project Management will be an added advantage.
Work experience
At least 2 years of post NYSC experience in project
management. Experience working with an NGO (specifically grant writing, project
management, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising) is an advantage.
Language proficiency
Fluency in written and spoken English and any other
Nigerian Language
Other skills
Computer literacy (Microsoft Application, Suite);
Familiarity with the World Global Goals and International Development
regulations is regarded as an asset. A working knowledge of basic accounting is
a plus.
