Our Client, a group of companies is seeking a highly qualified Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of its businesses. As the head of the legal team, you will review, interpret and translate legal requirements and effectively communicate these to the business and external stakeholders.
Ultimately You will safeguard the reputation of the company by guaranteeing strict adherence to law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues. The ideal candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize the probability of exposure.
Responsibilities
1. Give accurate and timely counsel to management on a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, etc.)
2. Ensure compliance with the internal controls, statutory regulations, and other formalities.
3. Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations,
4. Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
5. Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority, etc.), creating relations of trust.
6. Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
7. Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.
8. Execute procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.
9. Handle litigation.
10. Keeping up with current changes in all relevant areas of laws and contributing to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company’s legal function.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment.
2. Minimum of 5 years previous working experience as a Legal Counsel
3. Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
4. Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
5. Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
6. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
7. Outstanding communication skills.
8. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
9. A degree in Law.
