Position Summary 

Develop and manage the collection of wines and spirits across our brand platforms consisting of the Wine Bars, Wine Shops, Online platform, and On-trade Key accounts. Oversee all wine-related duties that enable sales.

 

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Procurement and Inventory:

· Manage the selection of a vast collection of the rarest and best-quality wines and spirits in coordination with the General Manager of the Online platform, On-Trade Key Accounts, Wine Shops.

· Manage the wines and spirits inventory in our portfolio by creating and updating the wine list.

· Maintain an accurate list to have an overview of the wines in our collection.

Team Work: 

· Work with the restaurant management team and Executive Chef to identify team needs.

· Build and maintain good relationships with new guests and clients. 

Maintain Quality and Budget:

· Work with management to accomplish sales targets to meet the expectations for sales.

· Store and preserve the wines in our collection at the right temperature.

· Reduce the loss and shrink of the wines in our portfolio.

Training, Education, and Events:

· Recommend food and wine pairings to guests based on personal tastes and food choices.

· Train the wait staff on the wines in our collections to be better informed to serve our guests.

· Provide insight to guests and clients on wines and spirits.

· Organize educational wine tasting events for guests and clients.

Administration: 

· Train and supervise other team members.

· Responsible for all administrative functions of the Food and Beverage Department, staffing, training, and execution of other related duties. 

· Keeps all records so that they can be checked at any time for information or audit purposes.

Nature & Scope (Including Dimensions):  Position works across all Brand portfolios and reports directly to the General Manager.

 

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Food, Nutrition, and Hospitality, Business, Tourism, or any related field.

· A Master Sommelier Diploma from any institution in the world.

· WCT3 certified.

Experience/Background: Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience as a Sommelier within a complex and fast-paced business environment. 

· Strong knowledge of food and beverage pairings, pricing, budgets, cost controls, operation and programming knowledge of a point of sales system, General Office Programs, and Project Management.

· Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills.

· Good Business Instincts.
